Jason Lives…

Growing up I was always fascinated by film, and no other genre struck me quite like horror. Like a roller coaster ride, horror films expose us to thrill of a good scare but contained within the safety of the theater or television. And no horror antagonist captivated me quite like Jason Voorhees. The iconic hockey mask has become synonymous with evil, and is such an ingrained part of pop culture that you’d be hard pressed to find anyone who didn’t recognize it as such. My very first video project featured Jason, but as always, I resolved to do it better after revisiting the project. Just as Jason’s iconic mask evolves throughout the series, so too evolves our technique and methodology. Each mask is hand-painted, weathered, treated, and stylized by me, striving to be as screen-accurate as possible while also adding my own unique flair.

Bloodlust | Custom | A repaint of a NECA® Officially Licensed Friday the 13th Part IV – The Final Chapter Replica Mask that was then splattered with blood paint by my mischievous little helper!

Nightmare | Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning | As seen in the dream sequence…dead, but not forgotten. This is the screen-worn mask from my first video project, “Jason Strikes Back” and was re-painted, weathered, and detailed to reflect the scene from the film

Imposter | Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning | As worn by Jason Voorhees impersonator Roy Burns, the primary antagonist in Jason’s absence from the film

Maggot Head | Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives | Accidentally resurrected, Jason Voorhees RISES from the grave to kill again

Psychokinetic | Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood | Defeated and chained to the bottom of Crystal Lake, Jason is once again resurrected…but this time, he faces a powerful adversary

Toxic Wasted | Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan | Jason once again rises from his watery grave and ends up in the Big Apple…but the city of lights hides an underbelly teeming of toxic waste
